New Maine Coon Kitten ‘Needs’ To Snuggle Golden Retriever To Sleep

Kittens can be a difficult adjustment for their new families. That’s something you just need to expect going in, or accept that cats aren’t for you. Personally, I know that cats would not do well with my little criminals… I mean, my Boston Terriers.

For one family, though, getting a Maine Coon kitten was the best thing they ever did. He fits right into their world, and even better, he refuses to sleep unless he’s snuggling the family Golden Retriever:

Liz has a pretty silly family. Before their new Maine Coon kitten got home, the house was still full of kids, Nelly (the Golden Retriever), and their parents! Unfortunately, they haven’t shared his name yet.

Nelly is about 4 years old, and she hadn’t been around cats before. They were really nervous that she wouldn’t respond well to him! Older dogs sometimes have trouble when they’re introduced to new:

However, they had nothing to worry about. As soon as he got home, this kitten took a liking to the family, and to Nelly in particular!

There aren’t any more videos of this little boy on their account yet: they just got him! However, Nelly is featured in several other videos. She’s a huge part of their family!

When Nelly isn’t snuggling her new baby brother, she loves going on walks and hikes with her family. It’s always nice to have some alone time! That’s what helps her be such a good big sister.

She’s got such good energy that she’s literally electric. How amazing is that?!

Maine Coon Kittens Need Friends

Main Coons are one of the most friendly, outgoing cat breeds you’ll ever meet in your life. While that’s perfect and makes for a lot of fun, it also means some extra work. Maine Coon kittens don’t do well when they’re lonely. That means they need:

  1. A very, very involved human companion.

While exactly what will suit them best depends on each individual cat, all Maine Coon kittens will need companionship. Be prepared to be a little annoyed!
