Whose kids aren’t excited when their grandparents come for a visit? I know when my kids were little, grandparents in town always meant extra snacks and cuddles, a later-than-usual bedtime, and more attention than a tired mom and dad could muster. And as parents, there’s something so special about watching the people who raised you be loved and adored by the tiny people you’re raising.
Apparently, the same rings true for DieDie the cat and his kitty brother, Nick. In a TikTok video shared by user @mr_die_die, the pair can be seen and heard excitedly greeting their human grandma through the car window at the airport. You’re going to want the volume on for the full adorable experience below:
The video begins with the two cats studying a passerby outside an airport, until they lock eyes with their grandma, who is all smiles, approaching the driver’s-side window. In what can only be described as chirping, the two cats vocalize their happiness the minute they recognize their grandma outside the car window.
The caption reads, “Grandma and grandpa are coming to play with #DieDie together 🥰,” and it’s clear DieDie just can not contain his excitement. The sweetest sounds accompany his watchful eye as he moves from the front seat of the car to the back. Grandma is all smiles and taps on the window, as if she’s telling DieDie she adores him too. The sweet feline continues to meow and chirp in anticipation of his favorite humans visiting.
Amongst a sea of heart-eyed cat and smiley emojis, a few users commented about the adorable moment caught on video, “Obviously grandma is their fav 🥰,” one user wrote. Another chimed in with “Soooo cute 😻 wish my cats were like that ☹️.” A third user can’t contain their own delight from this video with, “That is absolutely the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. 🥰😊”
Cat Noises and What They Mean
A cat’s vocabulary goes beyond a basic meow, and according to PetMD, the noise they make is used to communicate their moods, feelings, and desires. Purring, chirping, trilling, and chattering are words used to describe different sounds made by feline friends, typically indicating happiness, excitement, contentment, or greetings. On the contrary, hissing, growling, spitting, and howling are common noises in cat language that tend to accompany more negative feelings, such as fear, aggression, or discomfort.
