Scared Puppy Freed From a Fence By Her New Family After Animal Control Left Her Behind

When @jenniaguileraaaa heard a dog crying in her backyard on March 2, she had no idea that dog would become a part of her family. Animal Control arrived to discover the tiny, scared puppy stuck with her head in the fence, and they wasted no time helping her get unstuck. But that was it!

Jenni was bewildered that the Animal Control Officers left the lost puppy behind, on the opposite side of the fence from Jenni. Luckily, this quick-thinking mom sprang into action, freeing the baby herself.

It’s such a relief to know that this tiny dog is safe and sound! Jenni and her sons may have had to work hard to coax the puppy through the fence opening, but this proves that a little bit of patience and kindness can go a long way, even in an animal rescue.

“Bless you for your compassion and for teaching your children the same,” commented @allnew250. Animals are innocent & depend on us for everything. They don’t have a voice, so we are their voice!”

As grateful as everyone is to see the puppy in a safe space, some viewers are still confused about what happened. Not even Jenni understands why the Animal Control Officer didn’t bring the pup with her (maybe she thought the puppy was in her own backyard?), but I think this meeting was meant to be.

Just as commenters hope, Jenni and her family plan to keep the rescued puppy if no one else claims her. So far, no one has come forward!

A New Puppy

Bringing home a new dog can be a big adjustment for everyone, but it can look a little different when that dog is a rescue or a puppy. In this case, she’s both! Jenni will need to bring her new dog, whom she named Luna, to the vet to determine her approximate age, then she can begin her brand new life.

The best things to do with a new dog are to let them set the pace of early interactions and start creating routines right away. Dogs are creatures of habit, after all, and it can help to know what to expect every day. That may be tricky for Jenni and Luna, who are still getting settled, but it’s only a matter of time until the sweet puppy feels right at home!
