What dog doesn’t love a homemade treat? Even the best-trained dogs would love to devour something you made with love in the kitchen, but a lot of the recipes we follow just aren’t suitable for our fur babies’ stomachs and allergies.
Thankfully, YouTube is full of dog-friendly recipes, so you can get your pup in on the dinnertime fun, from time to time, and today, we’re sharing a dog-friendly recipe for meatballs from cattle dogsOliver and Sydney.

The recipe features four basic ingredients, and it’s a cinch to make. Plus, if you watch the whole video, you’ll be treated to Oliver and Sydney’s backstory, which is just as cute as they are!
The Cattle pups’ dad walks us through the whole recipe, step by step, and the ingredients are as follows:
-
1 can of organic pumpkin puree
-
1 to 2 cups of almond flour
To make the meatballs, mix the beef, pumpkin puree and eggs in a large mixing bowl until thoroughly combined, then mix in the almond flour, a cup at a time, until the mixture thickens enough to hold balls in place.

From there, simply roll out the meatballs to your (or your dog’s) desired size. Oliver and Sydney enjoyed a bite of meatball before it was even cooked, which can be safe for dogs, although uncooked ground beef and raw eggs are not recommended much due to bacterial risks.
Once your meatballs are rounded, simply heat your pan on the stove and make sure it’s nice and hot before oiling it with any oil safe for dogs (olive oil, coconut oil, fish oil, flaxseed oil, and sunflower oil).
Place your meatballs in the pan, leaving enough space between them to flip them until each side is thoroughly cooked and a bit crispy on the outside. Oliver and Sydney’s dad cooked the meatballs until they were medium-well, but dog stomachs aren’t as temperature-sensitive as ours, so cook to your dog’s preference.
Make sure the meatballs are well-cooled before you let your dogs chow down, although they may be impatient to taste the delicacies you’ve made. You wouldn’t want them to burn their tongues!
Oliver and Sydney absolutely loved these meatballs, and your pup will, too. It’s a healthy and nutritious treat for dogs of all breeds and sizes, and you can make yourself your own seasoned meatballs to pair with spaghetti for your own Lady and the Tramp dinner night!
