It’s hard to top the look on my dogs’ faces when they see me or another family member walk through the door. My Dachshund’s tail goes into overdrive, and she practically shakes with excitement. Her Pug brother does his little “dance of joy” and prances around in circles. Their greeting is a beautiful expression of their unconditional love and gratitude.
Duke the Golden Retriever also appears to have an instant reaction when he sees his mom and the look on his face speaks volumes.
In the TikTok from @dukethatgolden, the precious pooch strolled down the street and passed by the window of a nail salon. Catching a glimpse of something — or someone — inside, Duke immediately jumped on the window like he was trying to break through.
“POV: My Golden Retriever on his walk found me in the nail salon,” the onscreen text explained.
Duke lost all self-control at the sight of his mother. When window access didn’t work, Duke bolted for the door and demanded it to be opened.
“My Golden Retriever immediately invited himself in,” the caption read.
Someone saw the fur baby’s unbridled excitement and let him in the salon. Duke literally pulled the person walking him as he dashed toward his mom like he couldn’t get to her fast enough.
The final clip showed Duke completely calm, sitting by his mom’s side. Maybe he even stayed for a manicure.
Golden Retrievers are Love Bugs
This beautiful breed is known for its huge heart, playful spirit, and infinite affection. Golden Retrievers show their love in a variety of ways, including tail wagging, jumping, snuggling, playing, licking, bringing objects, and loving gazes. Duke has obviously mastered all of these affectionate gestures.
Followers raved over the canine cutie and felt he was completely justified in crashing his mom’s manicure.

“I would pay extra for a dog at a nail salon,” one remarked.
“In the window: Mom MOM MOM! Sitting next to you: Yay! I’m with my mom,” another posted.
“Boy dogs and their love for their mama. It is the best thing,” a follower noted.
“Look at that face, he couldn’t wait to see you again,” someone raved.
Maybe next time, Duke’s mom should book him an appointment as well.
