This Tuxedo-Wearing Dog Is So Excited for Her Breakfast Burrito, and We Don’t Blame Her

You’ve heard of Taco Tuesday, but what about Tuxedo Burritos?

Root is a very happy pup whose mom makes YouTube content, and in this video, the little lady is treated to a very exciting breakfast burrito.

In fact, Root is so excited to eat the burrito that she chomps on all the ingredients as her mom places them in the wrap! She just can’t contain himself, and we don’t blame him.

Root’s mom uploads to the YouTube channel @ZeusandRoot, often sharing videos of Root and her dad, Zeus, but this video is all Root.

She cuts a striking profile in his tuxedo bib, which signals she’s ready for a fine-dining meal, and she stands by eagerly as her mom makes the burrito, layer by layer.

This breakfast burrito includes scrambled egg, organic steak, carrot sliced like bacon strips, sauteed spinach, sweet potato cubes, mushed peas to recreate the look of avocado, a few chopped up pieces of tomato and—of course—cheese!

It’s all drizzled with a plain Greek yogurt sauce, and that is one healthy, Root-approved meal!

Are Breakfast Burritos Healthy for Dogs?

All the ingredients in Root’s burrito are healthy and safe for dogs—in moderation, of course.

Eggs provide lots of protein, iron, selenium and zinc, all of which are important building blocks of pup health. Just make sure you never serve raw eggs to a dog, as those are full of dangerous bacteria.

Steak, of course, is a canine favorite, and carrots are a wonderful, low-calorie source of fiber, beta-carotene and potassium.

Spinach is OK to give to dogs, but it must be done in strict moderation, as those leafy greens are also high in oxalic acid, which can interfere with calcium absorption.

Sweet potatoes provide dogs with fiber and vitamins A, B6 and C, while peas offer vitamins A, B, C and K, as well as minerals and protein.

Plain Greek yogurt is also perfectly safe for dogs, but it must be plain, as some flavored varieties contain harmful xylitol, sugar or fruit additives.

Tortilla wraps, as a base, are fine for dogs to eat, but they don’t offer much nutritional value, so make breakfast burritos a special treat every once in a while. Bonus points if you dress your dog in a little tuxedo bib, just like Root!
