In a hilarious TikTok video, Nova, the Golden Retriever, is not happy about how things are going at home, and she’s not afraid to let those feelings be known! Apparently, she was not in the mood to get her paws wiped! Take a look!
“My Golden Retriever throwing a fit because I wiped the snow off her paws,” Nova’s family captions the clip. “She stole the towel and ran.”
Wow, this sassy canine has very strong feelings! And lots of energy! Look at how she whips that towel around like it’s nothing!

Viewers had a lot to say about Nova’s antics.
“How dare you, Mom!” one imagined this Golden is thinking.
Yes, it’s probably a good thing this pup can’t speak because we shudder to think of what she might want to say!

Others recognized this behavior.

And who knows? Maybe it’s not a temper tantrum at all, but just a fun way to warm up after a chilly walk.
“She’s just playing with the towel. Why are you putting anger behind this? She’s just playing,” another commenter wrote.
Do Golden Retrievers Have Bad Tempers?
We always think of Golden Retrievers as the ideal family pet. They’re adorable, super friendly, and good with children.
But like the rest of us, they can get into bad moods under certain conditions.
While Goldens are naturally patient and easy to please, they can misbehave. What might trigger this? Lack of training or exercise can be responsible for Goldens getting a little out of control. They also respond well to positive reinforcement. So perhaps Nova felt that the wiping of her paws was an insult and a negative consequence of something she’d done.
Perhaps she’s just not a fan of foot rubs. Whatever the case, we’re sure she’s well past it now and looking forward to warmer weather!
