Animal lovers are used to hearing the expression “fight like cats and dogs,” when describing a contentious relationship. The phrase is meant to describe an immediately assumed disdain that cats have for dogs and vice versa. However, there are many examples where that is not the case, and we come across evidence that the two animal species can thrive in peaceful coexistence. Now, that’s not to say that every pup is going to welcome a kitty with open paws, but there is hope.
As for one big husky, it’s hard to tell if he’s forming a friendly bond with this tiny feline or just unbelievably patient. In a video shared by Instagram user @flint.themainecoon, we can see the kitten’s relentless efforts to engage her big canine brother, while he stands there unabashed except for a few gentle nudges.
The video is set to the fitting tune “Bad Boys,” by Inner Circle, and the caption reads “Just a big bully,” referring to the tiny feline. Flint, a four-month-old fluffy Maine Coon kitten, is first seen launching himself at Zeke, an eight-year-old Siberian Husky–American Eskimo mix. Zeke lowers the front end of his body, known as a play bow, which is a friendly gesture that dogs use to communicate during a romp session, according to DogHealth.com.
Next, Flint goes for Zeke’s back side, as he can’t seem to get enough of his big, fluffy tail. Zeke doesn’t seem to mind this one bit, until he gets up to play with his little furry friend once again. Zeke remains amazingly calm, compared to Flint’s chaotic energy, and it is clear the two have already have an incredible bond.
