Senior Maine Coon Cat Is ‘Chattier Than a 16-Year-Old Girl’ and It’s Too Cute

Maine Coons are known for three things: being large, lovely, and loud. This beauty certainly has all that covered perfectly as proven in his latest video which explains, “This boy is chattier than a 16 year old girl.”

The buddy delivers as we get to hear his various meows throughout the clip. But his mom has to hear it “all day long,” according to the caption.

“I love a purr that rolls right into a meow,” @Cats, Crafts & Cupcakes jumped in to praise the big guy in the comments. @Page Citrus followed it up with, “Love a chatty kitty!” There’s nothing better than a man who’s a good conversationalist. Another poster, @Grayson and his human took it a step further, “He’s got important things to say.” Finally, we loved the comment from @caitlyn leader, “King Floof is talking.” Floof indeed.

Why do Maine Coons make so much noise?

If you’re a big fan of these gentle giants, you probably see their vocalizations as a benefit. These sounds can show underlying mood and temperament. They include meows, purrs, chirps, and trills. Each one indicates something a bit different, so you’ll have to get to know your own kitty before you can truly understand him. When you first bring home a new feline, take some time to really pay attention to his various calls. Some parents report that their Coons in particular prefer to yowl or trill over a more traditional meow.

These happy cats sometimes get compared to dogs in part because of their more loquacious nature. In fact, this breed often works well with other four-legged animals. They even like water!

As extremely social and intelligent beasties, Maine Coons can learn tricks and can hone their communication skills. Don’t be concerned by this clip if he seems a bit too talkative. While these animals love to gossip, they aren’t an especially noisy kitty. You may have to get used to having a teenage girl in the house though.
