Belgian Malinois Refuses to Stop Playing His Favorite Game With His Kid Siblings As They Grow Up

With a thoughtful family and a little creativity, any kid’s childhood can be filled with magic. Imagination and play can go a long way, but creating fun memories is also about who you share them with. Growing up with a pet, for example, can be like growing up with a built-in BFF!

One mom named Danielle got to see this magic unfold before her eyes as her four kids grew up with a Belgian Malinois named Enox. On March 26, she shared a tear-jerking video compilation of the family dog playing his favorite game with his kids over the years, and there weren’t any dry eyes in the comment section.

This dog was born to be a big brother! He’s so careful and attentive with his human siblings, but he’s also having fun the entire time. His tail wagging doesn’t lie!

“I love him so much,” a family friend commented. “The grey on his face is killing me; he’s just a baby. I’m not surprised by how much he loves your babies because he loved you so much first. Truly one of the most special dogs I’ve known!”

Clearly, this gentle dog has left pawprints on the hearts of everyone who knows him. Enox is a family dog through and through, but his little siblings will always be special to him. Even when he’s in the middle of playing, his babies always come first.

“Seeing the white appear on his face” had commenters holding back tears, especially those who have had the honor of loving a dog themselves. Watching a pet get older is the most bittersweet gift! As someone who grew up with a rescue dog, though, I know how easy it is to forget that they’re aging until the white fur and cloudy eyes begin to appear.

Dogs For Kids

Belgian Malinois may not be the breed that first comes to mind when it comes to dogs and kids, but Enox proves that their loyalty and eagerness to please can make them wonderful playmates. Many high-energy dogs will love having older kids to run and play with, though smaller children could be knocked down by a pup who doesn’t know their own size.

According to one dog trainer, the best dog breeds for kids are some of the most popular dog breeds. Both Golden and Labrador Retrievers can make perfect companions! The gentle giant, the Newfoundland, and the misunderstood Staffordshire Bull Terrier used to be known as ‘nanny dogs’ and their affinity for children still continues today.

In the end, a dog’s breed doesn’t determine whether or not they’ll get along with kids. As Enox proves, their personalities make all the difference!
