The morning is a very controversial time; some love it and others…not so much. Which makes for a pretty funny mix when our fur babies aren’t aligned. Just check out one Sir George, an adorably hyper ragdoll cat, and his morningtime zoomies in a popular TikTok. Let’s just say George’s human doesn’t quite share his early morning excitement, yet he couldn’t be happier! Seriously, why do cats love you most in the morning?
The video is called “a classic morning greeting from Airplane George,” and this TikToker knows the zoomie routine quite well. Unfortunately — and ironically — mornings are her least favorite time to experience them. Like the TikToker noted, “Somebody was very excited to start their day. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t me.” But that doesn’t stop Sir George from zooming into his pet parent’s bed at hyper speed, ears flat like airplane wings, and pouncing around until she says, “Good morning!”
Viewers seemed especially amused by “Airplane George’s” wake-up call, with one joking that he has “such a majestic flight pattern.” Another made the point that when you have a cat like George, there’s no need for an alarm. Depending on how you look at it, that’s one of the benefits of animals that have way too much energy.

Are ragdoll cats more hyper than other breeds?

Sir George’s zoom-filled wake-up call is definitely hyperactive, and cute! The question is, though, are ragdoll cats more likely to start the day with chaos than other breeds? Let’s start with a fun fact to get to the bottom of this question. Of the many fascinating facts about ragdoll cats, perhaps the funniest is this feline breed’s nickname: “puppy cat.”
When not napping, puppies are known for their playful energy. “Puppy cats,” or ragdolls, can relate. These felines were bred to be not just fun-loving, but also easy to train: as in, you can teach them to fetch. Really, these cuties are the right cats for dog people, but they aren’t the only ones. Other cats with more dog-like dispositions include the Burmese and Siamese, both likely to be pretty social and affectionate.
As for high-energy in general? Believe it or not, there are actually cat breeds likely to be even more energetic than ragdolls, such as Bengals, who are especially active climbers. On the other end of things are Maine Coons, both the largest domestic cat breed and quite possibly the calmest. While it’s true that a cat’s breed can heavily influence its temperament and personality, each cat is its own individual. So, if you happen to have a morning zoomer like George of a different breed, don’t be surprised!
