You can tell within 2 seconds that Oscar has already decided this is the best day of his life. No buildup, no hesitation, just immediate, full-body joy. The caption says, “Watch me, Mom! Ooos… I’m OK, I’m OK!! Let’s do it again!!!” and that is exactly the energy. No thoughts, just splash.
In the clip, this big blond Doodle is out on a concrete patio, absolutely losing his mind in a kiddie pool while “Splish Splash” plays like it was written specifically for him. He is jumping, spinning, zooming straight toward his mom, who’s filming like he needs her to witness every second of this masterpiece. And then it happens. Full somersault. Complete wipeout. Legs everywhere. Dignity gone.
And he pops right back up as if nothing happened.
Straight back into the pool. No reflection. No learning. Just happy, crazy kiddie pool splashing vibes.
In the clip by @eliserx1958, no one is having as much fun in a kiddie pool as Oscar.
“Now give him a turkey sandwich with Doritos in it,” one person wrote, which feels like the correct post-pool reward situation.
“That baby is gonna sleep good tonight, ya hear me?” another added, and yes. This is the kind of exhaustion you earn.

“Cuteness overload for this little one,” someone said, which is an understatement considering he just stuck a perfect 10 somersault. “That somersault was a perfect 10,” another person wrote, and honestly, the recovery alone deserves extra points.
“He’s having him a good old time,” and you can feel it. Like you can physically feel his excitement through the screen.
“I can feel his excitement and fun through the phone!” someone else said, which is exactly it! It is contagious.
“There’s nothing better than a happy dog!! I can’t stop watching,” and same. I watched it an embarrassing number of times.
And then, “That is the sweetest thing… never thought of just buying a cheap pool and letting them jump around in the water,” which honestly might have just started something in a lot of backyards.
“He’s having the best time, absolutely adorable,” and yes. No notes.
I keep thinking about my own pets in this situation. Kingston would dip one paw in, panic, and leave forever.
Why Do Dogs Love Kiddie Pools So Much?

Kiddie pools hit everything dogs love at once. Water, movement, and the chance to cool off, especially on warm days. For high-energy pups like Doodles, it is basically a playground. They can jump, splash, spin, and burn off energy in a way that feels exciting instead of structured.

Water also adds a whole new sensory experience. The sound, the feel, the way it moves when they step in it—it all keeps them engaged. For some dogs, it becomes a game they invent on their own, which is exactly what Oscar is doing here.
It’s also a great way to help dogs stay cool, especially breeds with thicker coats. Just a few minutes of splashing can make a big difference when temperatures start climbing.
That said, even shallow water needs supervision. Never leave a dog unattended in a kiddie pool, even if it seems small. Slipping, jumping, or getting too excited can lead to accidents, especially on hard surfaces like concrete.
But when done safely, you get moments like this. Pure, ridiculous, joyful chaos. And apparently, the occasional accidental somersault.
