‘Drama King’ Orange Cat Demands More Food by Throwing the Cutest Tantrum

Pets can be just as dramatic as toddlers when they don’t get their way, and this video is the perfect example! It features an orange cat (whose name we sadly don’t know) throwing an adorable fit over his almost empty food bowl, and his over-the-top reaction is cracking everyone up.

Make sure your sound is on so you can hear the hilarious back-and-forth between the cat and his dad, who lovingly calls him a “drama king.” Honestly, with a tantrum that cute, we wouldn’t be able to say no to giving him more food either!

Dad’s caption for the video was also pretty cute: “My Cat Thinks an Empty Bowl Is a Personal Attack! This fluffy drama king throws a full-body tantrum because his bowl isn’t overflowing. He literally has food right there! We call this the ‘Fluffy Famine.’ LOL!”

Commenters’ Funny Reactions to The Drama King’s Demands for More Food

Viewers got a kick out of the video like we did and had a lot to say about it. @Michelle K joked, “That was close……he almost starved to death!!!!” @Hannah’s Abroad Life agreed, “So close. Sooooo close.” @Janelle McBride added, “He’s wasting away…”

We have to agree with @Isaac.vargas, who said, “The best tantrum ever recorded!” Another commenter agreed too, “That’s the sweetest of tantrums if I’ve seen one!”

@Peg Morrison pointed out, “By cat standards, that bowl is beyond empty!! LOL!” Another commenter shared, “It’s like having a 1/4 tank of gas = empty. I’m on his side!”

One commenter shared, “My cats are also like that. If you can see the bottom of the bowl = empty LOL!”

Commenter @Savannah Skye explained why this might be such a common issue with cat parents. “There’s a reason for this, folks. Cats get something called whisker fatigue. It stresses them out and is uncomfortable for them to have their whiskers constantly touching the side of a bowl. So, they often leave the middle or edges because they can’t deal with it. To fix the issue, use a shallow plate/saucer; it really is better for them! Also, use ceramic or metal, not plastic. They’re less bacteria-friendly.”

Is whisker fatigue a real thing when it comes to cats eating? Schertz Animal Hospital says maybe. “Whisker fatigue in cats has been used to describe the apparent stress cats can feel when their senses are bombarded by input from the whiskers.

Reportedly, the biggest culprits of whisker fatigue in cats are the deep food bowls and water dishes that we offer our four-legged housemates.

While this sensory input may be troublesome to our more sensitive kitty companions, whisker fatigue in and of itself is likely an exaggeration. As we understand more about cat behavior, we’re coming to realize it’s probably more the lifestyle we ask our pets to participate in that is stressful.”
