Some dogs are so loyal that they’ll join you on every adventure and hang out with you through every terrible movie. Some will even go as far as to ignore their own exhaustion to make you smile. And this Golden Retriever’s sleepy dedication is the sweetest thing ever.
In one video, we meet a charming Golden Retriever who has his eyes barely open when his mom walks in. His eyes are barely staying open, but when his mom walks in, he perks up just enough to greet her. It’s a small moment that perfectly captures a dog’s endless love.
On November 3, TikTok user Lexi, Wolfie & Pickles (@lexismileyy) shared a video of a beautiful pup who loves his mama with all his heart. This Golden Retriever’s name is Pickles, and there are zero questions that he’s a true gentleman with a heart of gold.
As his mom walks toward him, down the front walkway, Pickles is so tired that he is essentially sleeping while standing up and holding the door open for his mom. He clearly needs a nap, but his desire to meet his mama has taken over, and oh, he is just the most darling pup.
In the comments, it’s clear, reading through the more than 4.5k messages, that Pickles is a fan favorite.
One person wrote, “Not to be rude, but how does anyone leave the house when Pickles is still there, like… what else do you NEED that’s outside?!”

How Much Sleep Does a Dog Need Each Night?
Sweet Pickles is either really tired or it’s very early in the morning because his eyes seem very heavy. But how much sleep does a dog need each night? Experts say the answer to that varies.
According to Sleep Foundation, adult dogs, on average, get just under 11 hours of sleep, and a lot of that is between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.
We’re sure Pickles was able to take a nap that day to make up for waking earlier than he wanted so he could greet his mom, and he’s ready for another day.
