Chilling on her human’s bed, nothing got Poppy up more than her mom telling her that Dad was home. Zooming off the bed, Poppy’s excitement quickly turned to panic when she couldn’t find an adequate toy to welcome her father. As most pet parents know, it’s not a proper welcome until a toy is given.
In her extreme panic, Poppy opted for a pillow as her offering, which she dutifully delivered the minute her dad opened the door. Not even letting him get a foot in the doorway, Poppy was ready for all of the cuddles, kissies, and pets from her dad.

As if the moment weren’t heartwarming enough, many users shared their own stories about their welcoming committees in the comments. “I came home after 10 days in the hospital. Burns and skin graft. I was worried about my two pit bulls jumping up on me. But immediately upon smelling me they knew that I was sick. They did not jump on me. They nuzzled my hand.
