A Quaker parrot named Auggie has become an internet favorite thanks to her adorable dance moves and her love for singing her favorite tune, “Bacon Pancakes.” She sings by herself and also loves it when her mom joins in, so she can shake her tail feathers to the beat. But on a recent Monday afternoon, Auggie just couldn’t decide whether she wanted “Bacon Pancakes” or her other favorite, “Bitty Bitty Bum Bum,” so she made her mom sing both!
Make sure your sound is on for this one because hearing the two of them go back and forth over which song to sing is adorable. And while her vocals are cute, it’s those dance moves that totally steal the show!
Jen said in the video’s caption that this is just a typical afternoon with Auggie, and we’ll be honest, it wouldn’t be a bad way to spend the day! And both the tunes are catchy; now we’ve got “Bacon Pancakes” stuck in our heads on a loop!
Commenter @core_the_bore made us laugh when they pointed out, “The whispered bacon is the best!” @Matt replied, “Secret bacon pancakes LOL!”
@Mrsparks shared, “Whisper bacons make my heart happy!” We loved @MrsGeoScience’s comment, “I have gotten one of my freshmen classes obsessed with Auggie. I say, ‘whisper pancakes’ when I need their attention, and they say bacon bacon!”

About Chatty Quaker Parrots
Quaker parrots, also known as monk parakeets, are highly intelligent birds and, fun fact, the only ones out there that build communal nests. Auggie loves singing ‘Bacon pancakes, makin’ bacon pancakes‘, and it’s absolutely adorable when she does it!
Like most Quakers, she’s super chatty and is full of personality. These birds are known to mimic not only human voices but also everyday sounds they hear around the house, and many owners swear it’s like their birds are trying to have real conversations with them!
All About Parrots explains, “Quaker parrots are excellent talkers, capable of developing an extensive vocabulary. They begin speaking English early in life, but few can pronounce decipherable words for 5-6 months. Male and female Quaker parrots are equally skilled talkers, learning up to 60 words.”
All About Parrots also issued this cute warning, “If a Quaker parrot stops talking, consider if you’ve done something to upset it. Emotions heavily influence Quakers, so they may cease communication if annoyed, unhappy, or jealous.” I guess these parrots have some pretty big feelings!
