Servals Fight Over Who Gets to Frolic in the Leaves Like a Pair of Preschoolers, and It’s Too Funny

Playing in the leaf pile is a rite of passage for so many kids, and as it turns out, pets. Dogs and cats both love taking turns frolicking in nature’s confetti. However, they aren’t the only animals that love to prance about.

Two servals from the Wildcat Sanctuary have the ultimate play time, plopping about and running through the leaves piled in their enclosure. But what’s fun without a little bit of chaos? In true cat style, a little drama ensues when neither cat wants to share.

Servals Fight Over Who Gets the Leaf Pile

Fiona and Bruno, the rescued servals, are currently residents of the Wildcat Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a natural habitat for wild cats, located in Sandstone, Minn. The servals were rescued separately when they were found wandering. Bruno came to the sanctuary first and was later paired with Fiona shortly after she arrived.

While Bruno only has three legs, he doesn’t let his lack of a fourth limb slow him down, and he doesn’t let Fiona push him around either. In the hilarious video shared to the organization’s Facebook page, Fiona is having the time of her life in the leaf pile, while Bruno looks on.

Being a mischievous cat, Bruno couldn’t let Fiona have all of the fun. As she flings leaves around with her paws, Bruno prepares for his attack. Crouching down low, he springs, landing on an unsuspecting Fiona. The poor girl was trying to enjoy some playtime in the leaves, but ended up relinquishing her spot to the clever little Bruno.

As she slinks away to another area of their enclosure, Bruno nestles into the leaves, clearly satisfied with the outcome of his carefully planned shenanigans. Though at the very end of the clip, it looks like he is trying to use the leaves as camouflage for another well-timed pounce. Makes you wonder if Fiona ever gets a moment’s peace.

The entire scene was amusing to viewers, many of whom commented that Bruno’s antics were quite hilarious. One viewer nails the overall vibe writing, “The only thing more fun than jumping into a leaf pile is being able to bounce your pal while jumping into it!”

It’s true. Playing in leaves by yourself isn’t nearly as satisfying as enjoying them with a friend. I’m not sure Fiona was a willing participant in Bruno’s game this time. Though I am sure she will get him back eventually.
