Halley Kate is a glamorous New York-based influencer. She has a huge apartment and a house in the Hamptons, loves to shop, travels all the time, and has three Dachshunds.
Kate is an animal lover through and through and adopted her third Dachshund, Rusty, who is blind, when she saw a video about him and flew the next day to get him.
She also has a lot of Dachshund-inspired decor in her apartment, which she shares in this video.
But Kate recently shared a less glamorous side of her daily life, which she usually doesn’t include in her content, but she thought she would.
Though she often shows herself feeding her three dogs in the morning and taking them out onto their outdoor area, the part Kate left out is when she has to sit on the couch and make sure her two male dogs, who scarfed down their food immediately, don’t eat their much slower sister’s meal.
Her female dog, Finley, daintily and very slowly picks at her food every 20 minutes or so, which means the male dogs, Oslo and Rusty, are constantly trying to get a second breakfast.
So Kate has to sit and protect Finley’s food even though she barely cares about it.
“She nibbles like every 20 minutes. She takes like a bite of food,” Kate says in the video. “So I have to sit here and be a bodyguard to this food.”
Finley also, of course, eats out of a Mackenzie-Childs dog food bowl, a trademark of many influencers, especially those with Dachshunds.
Finley, who is sitting under a blanket, finally comes out, and Kate tells her to take a bite from her bowl, which she actually does.
Kate cuts back to her male dogs, who she says are quite “pissed!”
Is It Bad for Dogs To Eat Quickly?
Does it pose any risks to their health if dogs eat too quickly, like Kate’s male dogs?
Though it is a bit comical when they eat fast, it can lead to choking and vomiting, which aren’t usually life-threatening issues, but they aren’t fun.
However, eating too fast can lead to a more serious condition called bloat. Bloat, which used to be known as gastric dilatation-volvulus or GDV, occurs when the stomach expands as they are taking in so much extra air and then twists within the dog’s abdomen.

This can cause the dog to go into shock and be fatal.
Most likely, Rusty and Oslo scarf down their food in a non-life-threatening way, and luckily Finley doesn’t have that problem.
