Shih-Tzu Flat-Out Refuses to Play Hide-and-Seek With His Treats

Some pups are always down for a good game of hide-and-seek—especially if the reward involves treats of some kind. Others want nothing to do with it and absolutely resent the idea that they should have to work for their snacks.

Olaf, a sassy Shih Tzu, was clearly offended when his mom thought a game of “hide the treat” was a good idea. He quickly decided that her little game was not on his to-do list, and his tiny dog grumbles let viewers of his TikTok video know he would not be participating.

At the beginning of the video, posted by @mstinayang, Mom places two tiny cookies on the edge of a table. She then covers them with one small plastic cup and places an identical empty cup beside it.

Mom says, “Okay, let’s see. Which one has a treat?” Olaf just stares at her… blankly, as if he’s saying, “You tell me!” She continues, “Okay, choose!”

There’s no mistaking the Shih Tzu’s attitude for anything other than absolutely not. He refuses to budge as Mom taps each cup and asks, “This one? Or this one?” Olaf just stares at her in sassy disbelief that she expects him to play such childish games.

His final act of defiance is looking away and giving an enormous yawn—completing his level 100 attitude display. He straight-up ignores her game, essentially deciding that this amount of effort for two cookies is simply beneath him.

Over 400 Viewers React to Olaf

Many fans are Team Olaf and find his attitude completely understandable. One commenter, @h_c_jojo, suggested what the pup might be thinking, “Just give me the treat, Karen. I don’t have time for this!” Mom replied, “Right? He’s about to flip the table in my face!”

Another viewer, @Betina, pointed out, “Ain’t nobody got time for this!” and Mom laughed, saying, “Yeah, he said he’s sending me to a retirement home so he can do whatever he wants.”

One thing is for sure, Olaf’s attitude is the best kind of entertainment, and we can’t wait to see more dramatic Shih Tzu sass in the future.
