It’s challenging to keep a gift a secret when you know the person you got it for has wanted that specific item for a long time. You can’t wait to see the look of joy on their face when they finally open that present, so fighting the urge to give it sooner rather than later is sometimes a losing battle.
Christmas came a little early for Cody the Golden Retriever. His mom couldn’t hold off giving him something extra special this year and decided to conduct the big reveal before December 25.
In the TikTok from @codythegoldenboy, the gorgeous Golden stood at the top of the stairs as his tail wagged nonstop. His mom walked up the steps carrying a box with an adorable Golden Retriever puppy inside.
Cody took one look at the precious pup named Cooper and literally pranced around with joy. He kept jumping up to get a better look at his new fur baby brother, clearly wanting to welcome him into his forever home.
His mom set the box down so Cooper could start making his way out. Cody continued bursting with joy and grabbed a big stuffed animal to show his baby brother, yet he was too ecstatic to stand still. The older sibling was the epitome of a kid at Christmas opening his present.
Cooper just sat back and watched as his big brother practically put on a show of happiness. The puppy could probably tell his brother was going to take good care of him.
Cody Is Already Sharing
The sweet welcome Cody gave to Cooper showed his excitement as well as his willingness to share his toys. The delighted dog immediately presented his new baby brother with a special plushie and was happy about including Cooper in all aspects of his playtime.
Since dogs are social animals, they sometimes initiate interaction or friendship by offering a toy. This act of generosity can also mean that they feel safe and comfortable with that person or dog.

Followers raved over Cody’s reaction to his early Christmas gift.
“The way he wants show and share his toys with the new puppy,” one pointed out.
“You can definitely tell prior to this he was an only child,” another noted.
“The tippy taps of excitement,” a follower wrote.
“I love that he’s showing him all the toy options,” someone gushed.
These two brothers are already besties. I think it’s safe to say Cody loves his Christmas gift!
