Husky Can’t Believe Her Eyes When She Sees the Grinch on TV

Penelopii the Siberian Husky loves watching TV, and her mom regularly shares videos of her reactions to whatever she’s watching. Earlier this month, Mom put on How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey, and Penelopii’s eyes made it very clear she had some very big feelings about the Grinch!

When the clip begins, Penelopii is already curled up on the couch, completely locked in on the movie. Her eyes are wide… with fear? Awe? Confusion? We weren’t quite sure until the end. It turns out she seems to love the Grinch!

In the video’s caption, Penelopii’s mom says, “The Grinch is an amazing movie,” but doesn’t say if the Husky likes it or not. We’re going with she’s a fan because she really perked up at the end of the clip!

Shows that Dogs Love to Watch

Does your pooch like to watch the boob tube? Ours does not; we’ll occasionally find her watching football and think it might be because of the noise and fast movements, but most of the time she ignores the TV altogether.

Dogs tend to enjoy TV shows that feature bright colors, high-pitched voices, and plenty of movement. Studies have also shown that dogs prefer programs featuring other animals, especially other dogs. Some pups enjoy calming cartoons with soft music, while others are drawn to fast-paced action on the screen.

In another PetHelpful article, a dog mom who breeds Goldendoodles shares a list of TV shows that her pups enjoy:

“Bluey: The bright colors, engaging sounds, and relatable family dynamics make it a hit for both kids and dogs!

PAW Patrol: The dog characters, action-packed scenes, and sound effects keep pups entertained.

Scooby-Doo: Dogs seem to react to Scooby’s goofy antics and fun sound effects.

Clifford the Big Red Dog: The slow-paced storytelling and warm colors are soothing for dogs.

Tom & Jerry: The fast-paced chases, exaggerated sounds, and high-energy movement make this classic entertaining for pups.

Looney Tunes: The mix of animal characters keeps them engaged.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Dogs respond well to the friendly tone and lively animation.”

We enjoyed watching Barxville, a ‘dogumentary’ that was created just for dogs, with our dog. It highlights all the fun things to do in Knoxville, Tennessee, for dogs and their humans. The short film is shown from the point of view of an adorable Golden Retriever named Hank. It was filmed using an adjusted color grade and strategic sound effects so that pets can enjoy the film as much as their humans do!
