Bedtime Supervisor Australian Shepherd Alerts ‘Pawrents’ When It’s Time for a Snooze

If there’s one thing dogs have in common with kids, it’s that a solid routine goes a long way in making sure they’re happy, healthy, and staying out of trouble. I’d argue the most important part of said routine is whatever leads up to bedtime. As a pet parent to humans and canines, I can attest to the fact that screwing up this part is bad for everyone!

Stella, a red merle Australian Shepherd, agrees with me. If it were up to her, she’d happily put herself to bed at the correct time. On one particular evening, the funny pup deemed herself the “sleep supervisor,” giving Mom and Dad the cutest sleepy-time alert.

I can’t argue with a girl who likes to sleep, and Stella’s not messing around. In the recent video shared by @fetchmeastella, it’s clear who runs the show (hint: it’s not her “pawrents”)!

Who could possibly say no to a sweet Aussie holding her bedtime stuffie in her mouth to convey she’s ready for her tuck-in?! Stella’s internal clock said it’s time, so sorry, Mom and Dad, but it’s time! If anything, this is a good trait to have, because she’ll get enough z’s and wake up ready to tackle her day.

Stella Takes Bedtime Seriously

I’ve always been a big supporter of schedules, and Stella seems to be on board. It’s not only bringing the same stuffie she had as a puppy to Mom and Dad—it’s a whole thing.

She takes her stuffed bestie up to the bed where she’s ready for her goodnight kiss, and honestly, it’s even cuter than the first clip!

The thought process that goes on here is incredible. If I were her parents, I’d do whatever she asked for as long as she had the stuffie. It just goes to show that no matter how old they get (kids or dogs), they’ll always enjoy the comfort of a bedtime tuck-in!
