Golden Retriever Suddenly Turns Into a Statue When It’s Time To Leave the Park

No matter how well-trained your dog is, sometimes, it can be really hard to rip them away from their favorite activities. Even the most exhausted dogs will protest the end of a walk every single time, and others will refuse to get out of the car after going for a drive. It’s one of the ways they’re most similar to human toddlers, really.

For Wally, the Golden Retriever, that activity he never wants to leave is a trip to the park, and he’s come up with a pretty foolproof method to protest leaving.

As we can see in this video shared by @wally.meets.world on TikTok, when Wally isn’t ready to go, he simply turns into a statue—that’s it: There’s no discussion; he’s just not moving.

He has an ironclad resolve, too, from what I can tell. He’s not about to move from that spot in the parking lot if it means getting in the car and going home. And who could blame him? The park is way more fun!

His mom even tries asking him to get in the car nicely, but instead, Wally does the opposite by resting his head and not looking at her. If he doesn’t make eye contact, that means she can’t see him, right?

In the end, it seems like everyone’s taking Wally’s side on this one—at least, according to the comments on the video. Not only are some people advocating for him to get more park time, but others are just rooting for him in general.

“Just give Wally whatever he wants, please,” one person wrote (I will cosign this request, personally).

Another commented, “No, you have to go home, not Wally.”

Wally has made it very clear what he wants, and hopefully, if his mom did have to take him home, he gets to come back to the park to play some more ASAP. How about tomorrow?
