Animals are so much kinder than we give them credit for. They show their love in so many ways! Not just to us either. Animals can be incredibly kind to each other. Just take a look at the sweet way a chicken was there for a pig named Maple, who was feeling so lonely recently. She really needed a friend.
The pig was all by her lonesome in the clip her human shared. Poor thing! She was so sleepy, but had no one to cuddle with.
Mom is a pig rescuer, so I’m sure she’s seen some tragic cases in her day. But still, Maple really tugged at her heart strings. Footage shows the pig trying to sleep in her enclosure, but she seems like she needs a pal.

Enter Gandalf. The chicken was more than welcoming to the pig and allowed the animal to snuggle up beside her. Awwww, what a sweetie! The two were together all night long. Maple wasn’t alone at last.
“Maple breaks my heart. She is lonely. Watch her get up to cuddle Gandalf in the middle of the night,” the pig’s mama wrote.
Don’t worry, she vowed to get Maple a playmate soon! People in the comments section were so concerned for the pig. She needed another buddy — ASAP.
“Animals feel. Why can’t more people understand?” wondered one commenter.
“Not me crying at 9 am on a Friday over a pig on the internet. Get her a baby friend right now!” someone else demanded.
“This is about as precious as it gets,” chimed in a third person.
“Those two knew each other in a past life and are now reunited,” one person praised.
Pigs Aren’t Happy Alone
Pigs are pretty adorable animals. But if you’re planning on getting a pet pig, be forewarned that they need to have a friend. Pigs don’t really like to be alone. They’re social animals who really thrive when paired with one or more pig friends. So if you’re going to get a pig, make sure you get two!
