Traveling with cats isn’t always easy, but sometimes, it’s necessary. Even if you have a trusted pet sitter that you can call on, the situation can change in an instant, and if you need to evacuate, you have to figure out how to take your cat with you.
Some cats (like mine) can think of few things mores stressful than not being at home, but that’s definitely not the case for the orange cat in the video below as he experiences his very first staycation.
Thanks to this video shared on Tuesday, February 10 by @jademariecole on TikTok, we get to see how her cat reacted when he stayed in a hotel for the first time in his life. It’s like he immediately went into explore mode!
This cat was bravely scaling the furniture, doing parkour all over the place in the process. He was a little cautious (probably because he’s so smart) and knew exactly when the time had come for him to make a soft landing on the bed.
Hopefully he settled in well for the night after all this excitement!

Unfortunately, this kitty and his family aren’t spending the night in a hotel room because they’re on vacation — instead, they evacuated there after their apartment flooded, so there’s no doubt that the sudden change in plans is taking a bit of a toll on him, too.
Before sharing all the parkour adventures, his mom posted a video revealing that she came home from watching the Super Bowl only to discover that there was water absolutely everywhere, and the hallways were already being vacuumed up.
Even her cat’s toys and crinkly tunnels were victims of the flood, and fortunately, he seeemd to hang in there pretty well, even though he must have been at least a little freaked out about the flooding that happened while his mom wasn’t home!
Here’s hoping they can move back home soon. Until then… parkour, obviously.
