Our pets have their own personalities and preferences, like Duke, a Golden Retriever who basically called shotgun when riding in an Uber with his human mom. And TikTok audiences can’t get enough of this pooch parking it in the front while mom roughs it in the back.
Duke’s mom recently posted their car ride, and when describing this interaction, the on-screen text labeled it, “POV: My Golden Retriever in an Uber to NYC.” Well, mom and dog were in for a long ride as they were headed to New York City from Maryland, which she stated is about a four and a half hour drive.
But Duke’s excitement at being in the front is unmatched. “My Golden Retriever is a human [because] LOOK at him in this Uber,” his human declared in the video’s caption, and from the looks of things, Duke is taking full advantage of those front seat perks.
Duke is more than comfortable sitting up front! This overzealous Golden is all smiles as he rides along, and he’s enjoying every minute of being in the chair as mom is questioning how they ended up here.
Reactions to Duke Being a ‘Passenger Prince’
Over 216K viewers have seen this clip, and people are cracking up at this dog’s actions. “Duke said first class is in the front,” joked @parisfromstl, and @sabrina_emason chimed in that Duke had “king energy always.”
“Passenger prince! He wants pets from [the] driver,” commented @greatmcgamers, and this Golden was definitely looking for some affection. At one point, it looked like he put his paw on the driver.
Along with remarks on Duke’s energy, people had fun giving their opinions on what Duke could have been thinking in the moment mom was filming. “Duke to the Uber driver: ‘I apologize on behalf of her. She doesn’t understand quiet mode,’ kidded @jackieohglasses.
“Duke: ‘Is that lady yapping in the backseat bothering you, my man?’” @authorjanaaston humorously questioned.

“He said, ‘We drove past a lot of places that sell pup cups and chicken nuggies… What are you doing, bro?” added @riversongduckdog.
No matter what he was actually thinking, it seemed like Duke had a blast in the front seat! While I can’t speak for the Uber driver, he probably made a new friend that day in Duke. Talk about the best doggie car ride!
