Vizsla Hunting Dogs Spot Squirrels and Immediately Freeze Like They Do in Cartoons

Vizslas Betty and Mabel live in an area filled with wildlife, and if there’s one thing these two hunting dogs love, it’s stalking out potential prey. These pups pretty much do it all; they hunt, point, and retrieve. Their natural instincts make them pros at tracking and pointing, as you’ll see in this video.

Betty and Mabel’s mom shared a video of what happens when her two dogs spotted a squirrel while out and about, and it’s pretty impressive. The moment they lock eyes on their prey, they freeze completely… and they do it in perfect sync! If it weren’t for the spinning fan in the window at the top of the video, you’d swear it was just a photo.

Betty and Mabel’s mom said in the video’s caption that this is a daily occurrence for the two of them. We have tons of squirrels in our yard too, and our dog does the exact same thing, even though she’s not a hunting dog and is never fast or stealthy enough to catch one!

Funny Reactions to the Hunting Dogs ‘Pointing’ at the Squirrel

Viewers got a kick out of watching the Vizslas in action. @menzovl joked, “I thought this only happened in cartoons, LOL!”

@anasofdlp shared, “They don’t hunt. They POINT! It’s your job to get the squirrel, haha! I can hear, ‘There! There! You see it??? It’s there! Get it! I’m pointing right at it!'” @carolina_sagitarius added, “Hold on, everybody! Professionals are at work!” @syd_n_jax made us laugh with, “Beautiful dogs! And this is why a short neighborhood walk can take over an hour! LOL!”

We agree with @ashleycarter.np, who said, “I love how they are in sync,” and laughed when @banksythegoldador added, “My bad, thought I was watching synchronised swimming at the Olympics.”

Commenter @_leekoolmum_ asked what we were all wondering, “OMG, what happened next???!!!!!” Betty and Mabel’s mom replied, “No squirrels were hurt in the filming of this video.” Sounds like these hunting dogs aren’t as good at their jobs as they think they are!
