This Dog Mom Created the Ultimate Recovery Day for Her Sick Pup, and It’s So Cute, You Won’t Stop Crying

It’s always heartbreaking when our furry friends end up sick. Not only are you aware that they aren’t feeling well, but it’s difficult to know exactly what they’re going through. The only thing that we humans can do is cuddle and comfort them while they get better. While they aren’t explicitly stated, cuddling your sick pup is exactly what the doctor ordered.

At least that’s what one pet parent understood when her adorable black Labrador retriever fell sick. While she couldn’t offer anything more than a vet could, she took the day off from work to make sure her furry friend felt comfortable and supported. With a lazy day anyone would be jealous of, you can’t help but get emotional at the cuteness of this moment.

Taking a Sick Day With Elvis the Black Lab

There’s no better way to get better from an illness than cuddling with your mom! At least for Elvis, the black Lab. After his loving human took the day off from work, his mom cleared the living room for everyone’s dream sick day. Inflating an air mattress big enough for both of them with plenty of blankets, they got nice and cozy for a day of relaxing.

Not to be forgotten were human and dog treats to munch on through the day. However, because Elvis wasn’t feeling so good, his human also included a few healthy snacks, like carrots, to make sure he was still getting the nutrients he needed to get better. Curled up together and watching TV, I can’t imagine Elvis didn’t feel a little bit better after the day.

Viewers in the comments couldn’t resist the cuteness of it all and made sure to applaud both the dog and his mom for the sick-day example. “What a special Mom for a very special dog,” said one user. Another commenter chimed in with, “Bet sweet boy felt better having his mom home with him all day.”

With such a sweet moment, we couldn’t help but agree with one comment that simply read, “I think we should get paid leave when our animals are sick.” That’s a piece of legislation we think most of us would be on board with, honestly. In the meantime, we hope Elvis is feeling much better now!
