Horse Nicknamed ‘Dennis the Menace’ Won’t Stop Teasing His Trainer During TV Interview

Anyone who’s had a pet or raised farm animals knows that our four-legged friends can be intelligent and emotional companions, but did you know they can have a sense of humor, too? It may be more subtle than practical jokes and stand-up comedy, but animals won’t hesitate to keep themselves entertained and amused.

Just ask Dennis! This hilarious horse wasn’t supposed to be in the spotlight of a TV interview with ABC Perth, but when his trainer, John Lugg, sat down for his 15 minutes of fame, Dennis just couldn’t help himself. No wonder his nickname around the barn is ‘Dennis the Menace!’

LOL, this horse is such a pest! He’s determined to get his trainer’s attention no matter what it takes, but clearly, John loves the horse’s shenanigans, too. And who could blame him?

“He loves his horses, and the feeling is reciprocated,” commenter @sarzig agreed. It’s hard not to love an animal who wants your attention as badly as Dennis wants John’s. This sassy horse may have some strange ways of showing his love, but it leaves everyone in the room laughing out loud.

Viewers also loved that the Australian news team edited this montage of chaos with a clip of John calling Dennis a “good boy” at the very end. Not only was that as wholesome as can be, but it was downright hilarious!

There’s a lot to appreciate about this adorable relationship, from the horse’s antics to his trainer’s own subtle sass. John truly loves his job and everyone he works with, though clearly he connects best with his four-legged colleagues.

Horses With Attitude

Everyone knows that dogs and cats can have attitudes bigger than they are, but equestrians know that horses are no different. Enrichment and fun are important pieces of their daily schedules, whether that means playing with animal friends or ignoring their humans’ personal space.

Even working horses like Smitty, the police horse, love to have fun! He took a break on the job to play with a traffic cone as if it were a toy, and it couldn’t have been any cuter.

Sassy animals truly never get old—just look at Dennis the Menace! He’s even earned himself a nickname and a legacy as a local television sensation.
