It is always heartwarming to see someone stop to help a helpless animal in need. It doesn’t matter what species the animal belongs to. From the mightiest of apex predators to the tiniest of birds, when an animal is in need, the right thing to do is lend them a helping hand.
That’s what one remarkable woman recently did when she found a hurt duck on the side of the road. Even though it was late at night and had been raining, she still pulled over to help out this poor, defenseless duck. It’s simple, good Samaritan encounters like this that give people faith in humanity and deserving animals a second chance.
As this heartwarming video shows, this kindhearted woman first spotted a trio of ducks waddling along the side of a rain-soaked road in the dark, before noticing this poor, injured duck lying in a heap next to a puddle on the opposite side of the road.
After pulling over, she brought this injured duck into her car, where he moved around a little bit, showing that although he was hurt, he was not in excruciating pain because he was still able to move around on her passenger seat fairly well.

She whispered comforting words of affection and told this poor creature that everything would be okay, while giving him some gentle pets and scratches before driving to a nearby veterinary center where this injured duck could receive medical care and attention.

Viewers on social media had a lot to say about this one. Some viewers on social media theorized that the ducks in this video were not wild and that their lives are currently in danger: “Those are domestic ducks and won’t survive outdoors. They can’t fly so often and die from predation. I wish someone could rescue the others.”
While other viewers expressed a similar theory, while noting that someone had likely abandoned these ducks on the side of the road: “These are dumped ducks. They are not wild ducks. They all need to be rescued.” Some viewers commented that because of this, this woman should rescue all of those ducks: “OMG, get them all. They are not supposed to be out there!”
And other people expressed gratitude to this kindhearted woman for rescuing this injured duck, making comments like “Thank you so much for caring. I hope he will be ok,” and “Thank you so much for stopping. You are an amazing person!”
