Grandmas make the world go ’round—there’s nothing they can’t do. It’s almost as if they’re born with all the skills necessary to heal everyone’s hurt. From the warmest, coziest comfort hugs to the homemade chicken noodle soup that cures your ailments, they’re more precious than the finest diamonds or gold bars in all the land.
No one feels this more than Chewy, the Newfoundland dog, whose very best friend in the world is Grandma. When he’s happy, sad, lonely, or in need of companionship, she’s the one he goes to. So, you can guess where the sweet boy went after his toy tore open!

There are so many amazing stories of a matriarch and the dog who adores them, but it’s this duo who’ve captured the internet’s collective heart and held it close. Watch as Chewy patiently waits for his 96-year-old grandma to make his toy all better (then give your grandma a call to say hello)!
The caption notes, “Grandmas can fix anything,” and that’s proven true throughout my whole life, too. Though my gram passed in 2015, she was my best friend and greatest cheerleader, so I feel a kinship to Chewy and his deep connection to his number one human.

Chewy and Grandma’s Bond Is One for the Books
I’ve covered the adorable Newfoundland pup and his love for Grandma for a while now, and every new post is better than the last.
Whether the pair is having a Star Wars-themed photo shoot or the good boy is helping Grandma get up out of her chair like the gentleman he is, you’ll hardly find one without the other. They even team up to guilt Mom into letting Chewy spend the night with Grandma!
Living next door, Grandma has the greatest honor of being the one Chewy can always go to—especially if he’s having a rough day worrying over “his” kids learning to drive or just going off on the school bus without him.
Theirs is an unbreakable bond that’s been really amazing to watch. It’s no surprise Chewy takes his toy straight to Grandma—she can do it all, including make the sweet pup’s heart, and toy, whole again.
