Introducing a new kitten to the family is always an exciting adventure, especially when the resident cat isn’t quite sure what to make of the tiny newcomer. Some kitties jump right into their new role as sibling or surrogate parent cat, while others require some adjustments to ease into the new reality of chaos.
We get a quick glimpse into a situation just like that, where a resident Scottish Straight cat meets his new Calico baby sister. His reaction is everything that makes a cat video memorable, and it’s a definite must-watch. Take a look!
TikToker @brunoleebora introduces us to a beautiful Scottish Straight cat named Bruno, who now holds the title of a proud big brother. But it might take a minute for him to feel that pride, because right now, he’s more confused than anything.
The new family member is an adorable Calico kitten who can see her big brother through a glass door as he watches her run around. Poor, adorable Bruno looks mad and really confused about the colorful tiny cat who’s got more energy than he has patience. The Calico is curious about her surroundings and the camera her mom is behind. But Bruno won’t take his eyes off the moving kitten, trying to communicate and figure out what’s going on.

How To Introduce a Kitten to a Resident Cat
While Bruno isn’t sure what to make of his little sister quite yet, and it may be some time still until they’re comfortable with each other, their parents are going about their introduction in the best way, according to the experts.
The BCSPCA suggests introducing new cats to each other through slow steps to help reduce tensions and fears, such as feeling they’re being replaced or needing to fight for resources. At first, it’s recommended that the kitties be in separate spaces to allow both to get used to the new smells.
Then that progresses to this step that Bruno and his little sister are at: being able to see and watch each other, but not yet able to access each other physically. The idea is to bring them together, but without barriers between them, and then slowly, and hopefully, when the time is right, they’ll become the best of friends.
The Calico kitten is so adorable, we’re sure Bruno will warm up to his little sister in no time.
