This video captures a puppy’s priceless reaction during his very first belly rub, his little paws twitching and eyes closing in total delight. It’s soft, happy, and impossible not to smile at.

On January 4, @keeleybluee shared a TikTok video of their 9-week-old Golden Retriever living in British Columbia, experiencing her very first belly rub, which instantly changed her life.

Look at her happy face! Her big paws are floating up in the air, swimming a little, and she’s not sure where they’re supposed to be or what they’re supposed to be doing. Adding the little wiggle to nuzzle her parent’s hand sends this cute clip over the top.

It’s so cute watching Keeley enjoy her belly rubs, and it’s basically guaranteed she’s going to show off her belly in hopes of some attention whenever she gets the opportunity. But, according to experts, dogs don’t just show their bellies to anyone.

Pets Best explains that there are a few reasons a dog will expose their belly, and two of those reasons signal how much the pup loves and trusts you.

The site explains that having your dog’s trust and comfort is a big reason they’re comfortable getting belly scratches, as they’re confident they’re safe. A second reason is that they’re signaling they want to play.
