Benji the Quaker Parrot is adorable proof that perfection — or even accuracy — is utterly overrated.
His version of “Three Little Monkeys” is the sweetest thing *ever*. It doesn’t matter that he forgets where he is in the song sometimes. Or that he gets stuck on his own pronunciation of the word “doctor.” When that happens, he tries again, decides it’ll have to do, and jumps right back into the song with fierce determination like the tiny green superstar he is.
He is too cute, and I’ve watched this video about five times already.
Parrots are just too much. Last month I wrote about Brody, the baby Amazon parrot who couldn’t stop singing “Wheels On The Bus.”

Now, we have Benji! These two should get together and form a band where they only do classic children’s songs. I would be buying VIP front row tickets, and making all my friends and family come along.
A viewer in the comments asked, “How many times did you repeat this till he learned it?” and the creator responded that he’s been learning from YouTube ever since he was two months old. Even better, they mentioned that he also knows “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “Old MacDonald.” Errr, I demand a full Benji concert!
All About the Quaker Parrot
Native to South America, Quakers have become popular pets in the United States, thanks to their playful personalities and strong social bonding. In the wild, they construct massive communal nests that can house multiple families of birds, which is a rare behavior among parrots.
They’re lovingly called the ‘comedians of the bird world‘ and are known for hoarding, nesting, playing, and learning tricks.
They are intelligent creatures who are well known for being highly social. They can recognize the voices of people surrounding them, and remember someone after long periods of separation. They often bond strongly with just one person.

Unlike most birds, parrots have an extra layer in their “song system” (an area “responsible for producing and controlling learned vocalizations.”) This gives them very advanced vocal control, and also the ability to continue learning new sounds and words throughout their life.
Benji, with all of his effort and enthusiasm, reminds us that something doesn’t have to be perfect to be, well… perfect. He’s not singing to impress anyone or be a TikTok star. He’s doing it because he loves it and literally can’t get enough. “Three Little Monkeys” with its adorable imperfections? That’s absolutely more than enough!
