Roscoe the Pit Bull never misses a meal and knows exactly when it’s supposed to be served. But dogs don’t understand daylight saving time or what it means to “fall back” an hour. So when the clocks changed over the weekend, Roscoe’s convinced his mom is late serving him meals, even though the clock says otherwise.
Roscoe’s mom shared this video during the 2023 time change, but it’s still just as relatable for anyone with pets. Make sure your sound is on, Roscoe has a lot to say about his “late” breakfast, even though it’s actually right on time.
Roscoe’s mom pointed out in the video’s caption, “The way he backs me into a corner at the end!” He meant business!
The look on Roscoe’s face at the beginning of the video had us laughing out loud! He was so annoyed! He was looking at Mom with complete disbelief across his face, like he was in the Twilight Zone or something! And I know that look well because over the last few days, my dog’s been giving me the same look!

Commenters Share Their Own Dogs’ Experiences With the Time Change
Viewers got a kick out of Roscoe’s anger, mostly because they’re having the same problems at their own houses! Like @donna, who shared a picture of her sad-looking pup and said, “This is my guy looking pathetic waiting for 5 p.m. dinner today.” @wiimoosestuff added, “Don’t deny the tummy time clock. It is far more accurate than an atomic clock. All furry babies have one!”
@The Hermit Witch shared a suggestion that blew all of our minds, “I gotta push it back 15 minutes at a time for 4 days otherwise mine stages a coup.” Such a great idea and one that would make the time change at mealtime so much easier! Then, she shared, “For anyone interested, another tip: Put their dinner time on a phone alarm with a consistent time with a distinct (not popular) sound that you use for NOTHING else. Important, absolutely nothing else. It’s stopped all my pets from staring at me ahead of time, and they recognize the sound.”
Commenter @sawenda shared, “Stop! He’s so cute in his hoodie!!! Sassy boy!” Roscoe’s mom had our favorite comment when she replied, “I can’t take him seriously in his hoodie. Mostly because it says derp on it, LOL!” I want a derp sweatshirt for my dog now, too!
