Cats have all sorts of adorable quirks, and for families who have cats, those quirks are the best things about them. But sometimes you come across a cute feline who somehow manages to create their own signature brand of sweetness without even trying.
That’s the magic happening in this adorable video of Lettuce, a blind cat who plays fetch with so much enthusiasm it practically causes her to glow. Her tiny, excited sounds make this clip even cuter, turning the moment into something that everyone who watches can feel. It’s gentle, joyful, and absolutely guaranteed to melt you.
TikTok user Goose & Otter (@iamgooseontheloose) shared a video of a beautiful cat named Lettuce, who is capturing hearts with her adorable little chirps.
She’s playing fetch-and-seek with her mama and has temporarily lost track of her mouse toy. She uses the little sounds to tell her mom she needs a clue, a little hint on where the toy went. And when her mom gave the clue, Lettuce knew precisely where it was, walked to the toy, and waited.
And probably one of the most impressive things we’ve seen in a TikTok clip: Lettuce waited for her mom to throw the mouse toy down the hallway, and in seconds, the smart kitty retrieved it and brought it back. So not only is she super cute, but she’s brilliant, too.

In the comments, everyone was impressed with Lettuce, who is excellent at finding her toy prey even though she can’t see.
One person asked, “Is her name Lettuce because there’s no is?”
Another shared, “A pet can be blind and/or deaf and show unconditional love. It makes my heart happy.”
Someone else added, “She knows that she can run with confidence because you would never put her in harm’s way.”
Other comments included, “She’s such a pookie pakokie,” “So smart!” “The only sad thing about her blindness is she can’t see just how stinkin’ cute she is,” “Her hearing must be insane,” and “Uhhh, I don’t mean to be dramatic, but does Lettuce know she cured my depression?”

How To Care for a Blind Cat
One of the many things that makes this clip so cute, and Lettuce herself, is how loved and cared for she is, and how much joy she oozes out in her videos. While caring for her is pretty much the same as caring for any kitty, blind or not, there are a few considerations if you’re going to be a pet parent to a blind cat.
According to Pet Assure, having a routine for your blind feline and taking safety seriously are essential. They suggest keeping the toilet lid closed, ensuring anything sharp or hazardous is blocked off, and restricting access to hot tubs, pools, stairways, or balconies. Also, inside the house, keep their food, water, and litter spots in the same area, and be mindful that moving things around the home, like furniture, can cause issues. Consistency is essential.
And, as Lettuce shows us, make sure your blind cat has access to toys and other enrichments because they’ll live out their best life ever.
